A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Hello there members of Weymouth & Dorchester Branch

Like a bad penny I keep coming round again, this time I have taken the Chairman’s role. Our AGM was on a bitter day, so not many of you were there to put up a protest! But the people from Parkinson’s UK seem to be happy enough to have a familiar person in place.

I have to concentrate my mind to get things done, which may be easier when daughter, Alison, and grandson, Harry, move into their own home shortly. Meanwhile, thank you to John Musgrove, who acted up in the Chairman’s role last year.

The new Committee is planning an exciting year, with a canal trip, our usual summer tea, locally, and quiz and skittles events as well as our regular meetings and Exercise/Physiotherapy classes. Peter Dare works very hard to get interesting speakers, but he does worry if attendance at meetings is disappointingly low. DO, please, do try to come along. One of our recent speakers commented on what a lovely friendly group of people were at the meeting. Please let me know if there is a particular problem we can help with that is keeping you at home on the 2nd Monday or the 4th Friday of the month.

Parkinson’s Awareness Week is nearly here, giving a start to our Fund Raising for 2013. Let’s hope it will be a bit warmer by April 17th.

Regards
Hilary
