Exercise to Music for Parkinsons

(or Dance for Parkinsons)

(formerly Movement Sessions)

Movement Sessions in Weymouth are now discontinued but have been replaced by Exercise to Music for Parkinsons in Dorchester. These are run by PDSW (Pavilion Dance South West)

These sessions are held at the Corn Exchange in Dorchester on Tuesdays from 3 to 4:30pm.

This is a stimulating and therapeutic multi level exercise class, specifically designed for the symptoms of Parkinson's. This fun exercise class offers you the opportunity to experience  many different movement styles, sing, meet others and share experiences. It will cost £4 a session but carers are invited to join in free of charge.

The sessions were lead by professional dance practitioner Aimee Smith who lead a variety of dance & movement sessions throughout Dorset & Hampshire.  Aimee took over the group from Amanda Fogg after co-teaching these sessions with Amanda for over 2 years.  Aimee is now on maternity leave so the classes are lead by Sammy with Amanda who has returned while Aimee is on leave. The classes are adaptable to the individuals and people are able to do as much as they feel they can during each session.  These sessions allow you to explore and expand your fitness in a supported and enjoyable way.
